Knowing that you are to give an effective speech in wedding needs you to write your piece so you’ll know what to say when "the day" will come, especially with some jitters along your nerves, you might get tongue-tied in front of everybody. But then, you’ll be struck with the question on how to start writing a wedding speech in the first place? Let us read on to some steps to learn how.

First off, introducing yourself to the audience is important so you’ll be able to catch their attention, and also to inform that you are talking with microphones on for a reason – that you are assigned to give out a wedding speech. Also include how and since when you knew the newlyweds so your audience will know why you were chosen. However, it is important to keep in mind that the speech you’re going to share is about the couple, not about you.

Next, tell a story about the couple – may it be a fun experience or a sentimental one – as long as that event highlights the couple and their relationship with each other. Use whatever you know about the couple; however, exclude the unimportant information to yourself.

Then share some good points about the groom and the bride, and how lucky they are for having each other. In saying this part, it is necessary that it will be given from the heart so the audience and the newlyweds will feel the sincerity of the words that will come out of your mouth.

After that, thank the parents for their overwhelming support to the newlyweds, to the people who came to witness the eventful rendezvous, and even those who prepared the food, the venue, the gowns, all the works! You know they’ll love you for it.

Lastly, propose a toast for the couple, along with some well wishes for the newlywed’s couplehood.

It is important that you limit your time for up to 5 minutes at most only so you won’t bore everyone by listening to your endless speech and to give way to other important parts of the wedding to happen. You can also be creative in your presentation by showing some pictures of the newlyweds that everyone may enjoy.

So hang on there, just scribble those mighty little words and string them together to form your powerful speech!

Growing up, I was always known as the affluent speaker in my circle of friends. Everyone knows me as someone who can speak to anyone and make a fun and interesting conversation out of nowhere. That is probably why I am always being asked to give speeches with best man jokes at weddings, graduations, and celebrations of other kinds. My specialty is weddings.
