Hello everyone, may I ask a few minutes please to say a few words about the groom. I am ____ (name), for those who don’t know me yet, the fortunate brother of our groom here and the chosen best man as well.

Before I give my formal speech, and come here sniffing (pause for a laugh), I would like to acknowledge each and everyone. Thank you ma’am and sir (name of bride’s parents) and to our own parents for making this joyous day happen to our wonderful newlyweds. I would also like to sincerely thank the people behind this grand celebration who give out all their efforts in making this event truly magnificent. And also a big thank to each and everyone for coming over and joining with us in _____ (groom) and _____ (bride) joyous occasion.

To all the brothers out there, I think you’ll understand when I’ll say I never thought that this day would finally come to my brother’s life. Because every time I see him, I can still see the little brother in him. I can still even remember when we used to play out in the backyard and Mom would come out to scold us, telling us to come clean ourselves. Then we’ll go up in the room, pretend to take our afternoon nap. Next thing, he’s already graduating in high school. Then started going out to bars with me and checking out some girls. The next thing I knew, he finally met the girl he’s about to marry and to spend the rest of his life with, not a big question since the evidence is quite obvious.

Over the ____ years I’ve known him, he showed me 5 important traits that molded him to the man he is today. (1) Generosity – because he always takes me out to dinner whenever I don’t have money, which happens most of the time, (2) Thriftiness – he only lets me cook, not take me out to fancy restaurants, (3) Courage – I always use him as a shield against dogs when were walking along the alley alone, (4) Reliability – he takes out the trash every morning, and (5) Trustworthiness – he’ll ask you to be his best man when you two promised each other even when you were still kids.

And today, I have already witnessed him taking a vow to take care of his wife and their future family. I know you can do it well, man, as much as _____ (bride) can do it with you. You take of each other, and may you flourish in your marriage. Everyone let us raise our glasses for the bride and groom. Congratulations!
