Now, those same escorts, who used to reside in expensive flats around the Knightsbridge and South Kensington districts, are no longer able to meet such costs of living and are forced to move to cheaper areas of London, sometimes even to leave the country.

With relatively limited demand for escort services and numerous female workers leaving the country, 2010 can be designated as one of the most difficult years that London escort agencies have had to face. In 2009, thousands of girls from such Eastern European countries as Bulgaria, Romania, and Lithuania made their way to London in hopes of finding employment with escort agencies. This wave of newcomers flooded the market, constantly forcing agencies to reduce their rates in their attempt to remain competitive and dominate. Consequently, most of them can no longer stay afloat with such paltry earnings.

The situation is rather unusual; although the authorities have done nothing to curb this industry, it appears to be dying on its own. Those who came to the UK in search of a better life are leaving for good, and local businessmen have begun to value their family life more than they did previously.
