Are your boyfriend just tell you that he has no feeling for you anymore? If he did, you must be confused on what to do now. After all, you still care for him. The first thing you will most likely ask yourself is "Will my ex boyfriend come back?" The answer to that question depends entirely on you and how you handle this break up. Basically, there are only 2 ways to handle a breakup. There is the wrong way and the right way! Doing the right thing will open a window of opportunity to get back together once again. Of course, you're going to need to put some efforts into it.

Identify the Cause of the Break Up

So why don't we take a look at a few of the basics first. Why did your boyfriend leave you? In order to keep him after you get him back, you will have to figure out the answer to this question. Once you find the answer to that, you will then need to figure out ways to make things different when you get together. Make no mistake about this; things must change if your relationship is to avoid another break up.

In the first paragraph of this article, you were told that you have two ways of handling a break up, ‘the right way’ and ‘the wrong way.’ Let us talk about the wrong way first. Quite simply, what not to do after a rough break up.

The Wrong Way to Deal with the Breakup

Once you are told that he wants to leave you, it can feel like your whole world has been torn apart. It hurts very much and can send you into a spiral of awful emotions. One of the most difficult things to do at that point is to gain control of yourself. What you should not do is fight what he does or says. Usually, our first reaction is to stand our ground and fight our corner. We also ask for explanations why he wishes to break up. This is not a wise decision. This only creates more friction.

Another bad idea is to keep bothering him after he has left you. Phoning him 20 times per day or texting constantly will not help your cause one bit. If you ‘unexpextedly’ bump into him almost wherever you go, he will think you are stalking him. Do not try to find excuses to meet him or speak with him. All of these actions will only push him even further away than he his now.

The Right Way to Deal with the Breakup

The right way to deal with it is to simply accept it from the beginning. Not only accept it, but go along with it. When he says to you that he believes you should separate or break up, simply tell him you have been thinking exactly the same thing. It may not seem like something you should be saying, but it'll be better in the end.

As soon as you have agreed that you need to break up, avoid all contact with him. Perhaps go on a small holiday and gather your thoughts. Have fun with your friends and take pleasure in your new found freedom. You might feel terrible inside, but it is important to make it look like you're having a great time. If you stay lively, it will also keep your mind off how bad you feel.

Once you have done that, take some time for yourself. Steer clear of the urge to call him up and ask him how he is doing. Let him be the one to contact you. If you play the waiting game, he will surely call you up to see how you are. If he does call you up, act as if you are having a good time and you have moved on with your life.

The MeetUp

He may ask to meet up. Accept it and remind yourself to not look at it as a date. Think of it as two old friends meeting up. Don’t bring up the break up or anything connected. However, if you end up talking about it, make sure that he was the one who initiate the subject.

The meeting is a sign that you've done the right thing. After that will come the first date and the door to rekindling your relationship will be open. When both of you do get back together, maintain a healthy relationship. Keep remind yourself to avoid repeating the old mistakes again. If you do, you might end up right back at square one again.
