Music underscores the theme and ceremony to create a perfect atmosphere during a wedding. The bride and groom will usually select music preferences they like the most. Religious background and attitudes will also contribute to the choice of music played at the wedding.
Choice of good music is as vital as who will play it. Audio hire is definitely of the essence when planning the wedding entertainment. Sound equipment is not only useful for music but also for the speeches and ceremony session.
There are six common categories of music played in a typical wedding setting. The wedding planner should carefully choose a DJ equipment hire company so that music delivery is executed perfectly. This includes such music as:
Pre-wedding music
This music sets the tone for the ceremony. It is the music played thirty or so minutes before the ceremony starts. Such songs are usually lively but played in a low tone to allow guests to mingle and converse comfortably.
Entrance Music
This is the formal music played to cue the bridesmaids to enter. Modern couples prefer popular selections but classical songs also work well.
Processional music
Processional music signals the guests to stand up for the arrival of the bride. It should be joyful and triumphant, to embody the occasion. The most popular procession music is Wagner’s "Here comes the bride" which has never ran out of time. Second time brides should however go for less formal processional musical selections.
Ceremony Music
Music during the actual ceremony is optional and also depends on the faith or denomination of the couple. Some couples opt for a soloist or an instrumentalist just before the wedding vows are said. This builds suspense and prepares the bride and groom for the vows.
Recession music
This music starts playing immediately after the wedding officiate introduces the new couple as a wedded pair. Just as the processional music, it should be triumphant and joyful since it will most probably be accompanied by cheer from the guests.
Church bells and chimes are normally rung during the recession process. The most popular wedding recession song is Mendelssohn’s "Wedding March" chosen by many newly weds during the conclusion of their wedding ceremonies.
Reception music
The wedding reception is an informal ceremony where guests let loose and most probably party the whole night away. Wedding disco facilities are common during such events.
