Bridezilla. We've all heard the term before and we all have some sort of image in our heads when we hear the term. And of course, the TV show of the same name makes our imaginations of the term run even wilder. But why did the term come into existence? It's half stress and half personality driven. And since personality traits are harder to change, here are the top 7 ways to keep the stress down so it won't lead you to becoming a Bridezilla.

*Hire a wedding planner. This may seem obvious but the first thing you should do if you stress out easily is hire a wedding planner. This takes the burden off of you and puts it on them. All you have to do is pick what you like and show up with your credit card.

*Get your fiance involved. If you can't afford a wedding planner, how else can you take some of the burden off of you? Get your second in command involved ñ your fiance. Sometimes brides just need the confidence that someone agrees with their decision and a nod from their loved one can do the trick.

*Delegate. When planning a wedding, brides can spend all day just making phone calls to set up appointments. Have someone else do little things like this for you. That's why you have a bridal party! But ask nicely, of course.

*Keep it simple, Stupid. If you know you are one to stress out easily, don't plan on having an extravagant wedding with an incredible amount of details. You then try to do it all and something is bound to fall through the cracks and then you will want to kick yourself in the butt later.

*Keep Checklists. This is a simple one. There are a million wedding checklists out there. They are created to do the thinking for you. And when in need, keep a checklist for the checklists.

*Stop planning the Wedding. Sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it? Brides often think about the planning so much that they just need a break. Partake in some activity that won't let you think about the wedding. Go watch a movie, play mini-golf or go bowling. Clear your mind. Then you will be fresh to think about things you were indecisive about.

*Enjoy the Day. Forget all the planning; it's done. If something goes wrong, ask someone else manage the situation. Get comfortable wedding shoes or bring a pair of flats and dance the night away!

Needless to say, all of these tips are worthless if done with a bad attitude. Be nice to your wedding planner, be kind to your fiance and remember that members of your bridal party are best of friends, not your minions. Happy planning.
