A marriage going downhill can feel like it is headed for divorce. Is there something you wish you could do in order to save your marriage? Hard times are just part of most marriages and couples have to go through them even when they are still in love. Never get to the place where you can't get out of to fix your marriage and start putting the romance back into it right away to save your relationship.

A couple goes through many changes over the years. One of the first things to go is romance. The kids needs and the finances can get in the way of the needs of the parents many times. Love and affection is always needed in the relationship. The bond may become stretched and break between the couple if these needs are not met. Resentment can build if one person is committed to keeping the romance alive, and the other puts it on the back burner; and marriage can be crushed, without a doubt, by resentment. Get that romance back into your marriage by using some of these ways.

When children are involved in a couple's relationship, it can be hard to find time just for yourselves. Hire a babysitter or allow grandma and grandpa to spend some quality time with the kids at least every month or even every two months, in order to keep the romance alive in the marriage.; Sometimes just the chance to have a dinner out alone is a wonderful relationship refresher. It is also possible to show affection to your partner on an everyday basis without being intimate or even being home. A simple thing like a love note left in a place your partner can find it during the day will show how much you care. A note left in a drawer on a piece of paper, or hidden in their wallet that might say simply "I love you!' will boost the romance between the two of you and make your partner feel loved. You can also take a walk together. The most important thing sometime is to put aside your responsibilities such as dishes, the lawn, or bills and make time to spend alone with your partner. A walk together has always been a great way to spend time together and focus on your partner leaving all the distractions behind.

Never forget to remember to take into consideration your partner's needs. Maybe romance is not on top of your to-do list at this moment. On your partner's list, it may be on the top though. You must always be open to your partner's suggestions. A relationship will quickly fall into the gutter when someone cannot make time for their spouse. Put your schedule aside for your spouse even if it is just to hold onto a lingering kiss, because it will make a big difference in the busy lives we lead.

When it comes to your expectations regarding affection, sex, and romance in your marriage, be sure to be open and honest with your spouse. If the course of your life is not where you expect it to be, now is the time to start. You will only hurt your marriage if you tell yourself that "someday" you will have the time to be romantic. You will realize that "someday" may never come and you will have wasted all that time you had on nothing.
