Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are spreading rapidly around the world and represent a major human health problem. STD’s can be passed on from one human being to the other through blood, semen, vaginal secretions, or breast milk. They involve passing a disease-causing microorganism, such as a bacteria or virus, to another person during sexual contact. Many sexually transmitted diseases may be life threatening if they are left untreated.

There are more than 20 well known STDs. Below we discuss some of the most common and dangerous of these diseases.

Syphilis: It is caused by the bacterium known as Treponema pallidum. Its signs are usually very gentle in the beginning, and treatment is generally not sought when first infected. There are four stages of Syphilis and they are primary, secondary, latent and late stage. If syphilis is not treated it can lead to blindness, heart abnormalities, mental disorder or even death.

Gonorrhea: It is caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Unlike syphilis the symptoms of gonorrhea generally shows 2 - 5 days after infection. These signs are burning and pain while urinating, increased urination, sore throat, vaginal discharge, brutal pain in lower abdomen, tender or swollen testicles and discharge from the penis. When untreated they may result in serious health complications to both men and women.

Chlamydia: It is caused by the bacteria known as Chlamydia trachomatis. Its symptoms are like those of gonorrhea. Chlamydia if not treated can lead to damage of the fallopian tubes that can result in other critical health complications such as continual pelvic pain, infertility, or ectopic pregnancy in women. In men, it can result in epididymitis, an inflammation of the coiled tubes in the back of the testicles which can cause testicular swelling, pain, and even infertility.

HIV/AIDS: HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus and it is transmitted through blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. HIV infections in people are considered a deadly illness by the World Health Organization. Since the time HIV was discovered it has killed over 25 million people worldwide. A lot of untreated people who are infected with HIV-1 eventually develop AIDS. It is a fact that treatment with anti-retrovirals increases the life expectancy of people infected with HIV.

Bacterial Vaginosis: It is induced by an imbalance of naturally occurring bacterial flora and is usually confused with yeast infection which is known as candidiasis, or infection with Trichomonas vaginalis known as trichomoniasis.

There are other sexual transmitted diseases which include: Viral Hepatitis, Genital Herpes, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and Trichomoniasis. More information can be found at the Center for Disease Control’s website.

polyDNA has developed Gene-Eden For-Safer-Sex (SX-101 Formula). This product is intended to enhance the immune system to -prevent- sexually transmitted diseases and infections. As we have seen that there are many sexual transmitted diseases this product will be of great help to many individuals. The primary active ingredient is Geraniin, an extract from the phyllanthus amarus plant. Geraniin has been shown in scientific studies to help the immune system fight off the bacteria’s and viruses that cause many STD’s. People who lead a sexually active lifestyle and want additional protection against STD’s beyond condoms should consider trying Gene-Eden-For-Safer-Sex.
