When it comes to decorations wedding centerpieces are an important part of the set up. Centerpieces are a focal point of attraction. For this reason it is wise to pick a centerpiece that will enhance and bring out your wedding theme. Centerpieces with flowers are the most widely used. But this does not mean that you need to restrict your choices to flowers. You can be imaginative and come up with something fun. Using your creativity you can come up with something unique to your wedding.
There are some things you may like to keep in mind when designing your wedding centerpieces.
Before you start have a think about your wedding and the type and style you are having. For example if you are having a tropical wedding then you should choose tropical flowers such as orchids. Get some ideas and make a note of the types of flowers you are considering before you go to the florist.
Think about the season when your wedding will take place and the flowers that will be available then. Don't decide on flowers until you know that you can get them during your time of year. Other elements that can be added are things like pinecones and colored leaves during the colder seasons. Or including starfish, pebbles or sand for a beach wedding.
Think about the location and size of your reception venue. Smaller size weddings call for smaller and more intimate arrangements. Large elaborate arrangements are more suited for large weddings with many guests and tables. Remember not to make them too elaborate or they will obstruct your guests sight. Don't make it too small that it can not be noticed at all. Think about the size of the table and how many guests will be seated there.
Color is an important element when it comes to the centerpieces. Your colors should be the same through all the decorations you are using for your wedding. Choosing flowers that have the same colors as your theme is the best way to go. Picking flowers with the same colors as your bridesmaid dresses is an option.Sometimes it can be nice to pick flowers that have a special meaning.
Consider the location of the reception and what centerpieces would work well with the decor. Keep in mind all these points and you will be well on the way to creating beautiful centerpieces.
