A wedding needs many things to make it the best it can be. One of the aspects that can really add an impressive look to the reception is the centerpieces on the tables. Wedding centerpieces can take many forms. Here are a few types that are sure to bring some "wow" to the event.
Floral centerpieces – Floral arrangements are excellent wedding table centerpieces. They're traditional, yet offer the opportunity to add a lot of personality to the display. The newlyweds can choose their favorite colors and types of flowers, pick flowers that represent meaningful moments in their courtship, or simply select arrangements that look nice.
Candles – Elegant candles make good simple wedding centerpieces. Their light will be attractive, yet won't overpower the overall scene or block guests' views of each other.
Candle Holders – When a plain candle isn't enough, put it in a unique candle holder to add visual interest. There is a nearly-infinite variety of holders, so you're sure to be able to find some that perfectly match your and your new spouse's personality.
Sculpted Wedding Centerpieces – These can take nearly any shape, and are unique enough to add a memorable touch that people won't have seen a million times before. Styles can be simple, ornate, whimsical, and more.
Mini-Lanterns – These wedding table centerpieces are shaped like old-fashioned street lanterns, but are small enough to put in the middle of the table. They are typically lit by tea lights and add a historic look to the room.
Hanging Centerpieces – These centerpieces are hung from above the center of the table to create a chandelier-like effect. They can be made from anything – paper roses and glass discs are just a couple of the materials that have been used for these. A hanging wedding centerpiece will definitely be a unique and attention-getting option, but done right, it can also be very classy.
Live Plants – Wedding table centerpieces don't have to be static. Live plants bring nature to the table and are great for newlyweds who share an interest in gardening. Using herbs brings a delightful culinary aspect to the display. Florist-style foliage plants are another good choice. Live plants should be watered well a few hours before the start of the reception. This will ensure that they are healthy-looking while preventing unwanted water spills onto the tablecloths.
Ripe Fruit – Ripe fruit in decorative baskets add the punch of bright, natural color to the table. When the reception is over, each guest can take a few pieces home as a table favor.
Sometimes, a wedding centerpiece isn't meant to be used during the reception. Keepsake wedding centerpieces are often meant to be used on the newlyweds' home table. One such type of centerpiece uses the champagne bottle from the wedding reception to hold a lamp, candelabra, or other decoration. The bottle may also be etched with a saying, the date of the wedding, or the names of the bride and groom.
No matter what kind of wedding centerpieces you like, you're sure to be able to find them online. Be sure to buy your centerpieces in advance so there's plenty of time for them to arrive before the wedding!
