Most people do not realize that their relationship is in troubled waters until it is too late to do much about it. Remember the movie ‘War of the roses’, well the setting may be a bit extreme, but if you are in that stage, it may be high time to pack your bags and head to a meditation zone. So let’s assume that you have not reached that point yet but would like to save your relationship before it heads off to the ‘break everything in sight’ zone. There are a few things that you can do but you need to understand that there is no easy one-step guide on ‘How To Save a Relationship’. Here is a list of things that you can do in order to save your relationship from heading into ‘troubled waters’.

I am sure that you must have come across quite a lot of materials, online as well as offline, on ‘How To Save a Relationship’. But basically they will tell you the same thing; here is a recap on what you need to do in order to save your relationship.

  1. Is your relationship worth saving – You need to ask this question and you need to be brutally honest with yourself. If you feel that you cannot remain in the same room with your partner for more than 5 minutes, perhaps it is time for you to do seek some professional help. But you will need to do some analysis on your own, take a close hard look at your relationship and decide if it is worth saving. I can tell you right away that no relationship can survive for long without trust so it is essential that you deal with this issue head on.

  3. Sex – Often, this turns out to be a problem for couples with a hang on for the old methods. As a couple, you guys could try out a few new methods and in the process, discover yourself.

  4. Counseling – There is nothing wrong in seeking professional counseling, nearly everyone does it. Your relationship is important to you so there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking the help of a counselor in working out some of the ‘issues’ with your partner. A counseling session will actually help you to narrow down on some of the problem areas in your relationship, tackle it head on and even help you save your relationship before it falls apart.
