So it’s that time of your life when you have to structure your life all over again. A break up does not mean the end of all happiness in life. The world is full of people who have gone through this phase sometime in their lives too, you’re not alone. Just as all of them, you will have to learn to move on. It does not happen overnight but it can happen if you keep in mind some simple guidelines that will help you in getting over your ex.

  1. Take Control of Your Memories

Get rid of all the fond memories that you’ve both shared. If you are still stuck with them it’s impossible to help yourself in getting over your ex. It is important that you try to forget the past and start living in the present, a present that your ex is no more a part of. As a human we tend to burden ourselves by thinking about all the good times spent together, but this holds no good when your relationship is over. Try to look back at your relationship and compare the good and the bad times, all relationships have their good and bad days. So it’s not doing any good trying to remember only the good times, maybe when you try remembering the bad times that you have had together you will get yourself the inner strength to see the reasons for your breakup. This will help you in getting over your ex.

Don’t keep track of what’s happening in your ex’s life in order compete with them. Each person has their own healing time, if your ex is happy and is back on the dating scene don’t feel jealous and try to do the same. You could just take that as a reason to remind yourself that whatever happened for the best, maybe your ex wasn’t worth you after all.

Get yourself a makeover and get your favorite haircut that you couldn’t get earlier as your ex liked your long tresses. Pamper yourself and take care of yourself and do things that make you happy rather than sit at home and sulk trying hard to get over your ex. Go out and meet new people and make new friends as you really don’t know when the special someone will walk into your life. It is important to stop blaming yourself for the break up and give yourself a little more credit for all the good times.
