For many the idea of a bachelorette party conjures up visions of a drunken party with a host of male strippers! This maybe your ideal party, but creative brides & bridesmaids are coming up with more unusual & unique ways to entertain themselves at these events. If you are planning a bachelorette party & are looking for some inspiration, here are some ideas to get you started.
The Spa Party
A spa party is becoming something of a tradition for a bachelorette party. They take the form of a long weekend away at an exclusive resort or simply an afternoon gathering at a local spa or salon. You could incorporate funny games or set the bride some daring tasks to complete over the course of the event.
Girls Weekend Away
If you ever needed an excuse for a wild weekend away with the girls then a bachelorette party is it! It is a great chance for you all to get together & have some fun, as once you’re married it may not be so easy for you all to get away. Keep the destination affordable though, as some of the party may not be able to afford a trip to a luxury destination, it could be a good idea to get together & decide on where to go between you. You could save more money by using a travel agent who may be able to negotiate group discounts for you.
Sex and the City Bachelorette Party
For this theme, the party is held in someone’s home. You can ask guests to dress as their favorite character & you could award prizes for best & worst costumes! Don’t bother cooking up a feast - do you remember ever seeing the SATC girls cooking? But instead order takeout such as Chinese.
Retail Therapy by Limousine
This is great for the shopaholics amongst you. Hire a limo for the day, make sure it is stocked with champagne & have a day of fun boutique shopping. The bride & her friends will feel like stars dropping in & out of their favorite shops whilst a stretch limo waits for them outside! Finish the day with a probably much needed foot massage & pedicure. Or if you want to do something a bit wilder - hire a limo for the night & hit the local clubs & bars.
It’s in the Stars
Have some fun, giving your bride to be her future forecasts. Hire a fortune teller, astrologer or tarot card reader to give everyone a short reading about what the future holds for them. Set your home up as a fortune teller’s parlor complete with drapes, soft lighting & aromatic scents.
Sports Themed Bachelorette Party
If your bride is into sports then a sports themed party would be more up her street than a girly evening in a bar, dressed in pink with a funny veil on her head! Arrange tickets for a sporting event or go on a camping trip. For a sports event that is still a bit girly book tickets for the races. A trip to the races is a great day out & you could make some money as well!
Strippers and Bar Crawls
If a stripper & a wild night to remember is what your bride really wants, then who are you to deny her?! But make sure you get all the details right. Check with her that she really does want strippers - if she doesn’t you could ruin her night for her! A club would be the best choice for a stripper themed night, as the atmosphere & other club goers will help add to the party spirit. Set the bride various daring tasks such as asking for kisses, finding items such as condoms, cocktail straws or pinching something from the stripper (not his bum!).
