Paris, France has long been referred to as one of the most romantic cities in the world. This is a good place to start when thinking about your winter honeymoon destination. The ambiance of the city and the slow down of tourism during these months is an added bonus to this destination. It makes it easier to get accommodation and to get around and see the sites. The Eiffel Tower is considered a romantic spot. You might consider having a picnic there or watching stars shine from the top of the tower.

New England provides for a country alternative if that is your thing. New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine are some examples. These areas are world famous for charming bed and breakfast spots, warm hospitality as well as a rich history and culture.

For couples who are more into mingling with the wild the Pacific Northwest is a good alternative. The weather in these areas may be harsh but this is surpassed by the beauty of breathtaking landscapes, sailing along the Alaska coast and snowcapped mountains. These areas would provide an unforgettable honeymoon experience. Examples are Washington or Montana.

For a more adventurous couple, a ski resort is a good choice. It’s not important whether you know how to ski or not, ski resorts provide for both activity outdoors as well as a romantic ambiance. Quebec, Canada or Lake Tahoe, Nevada is good spots to consider.

If your preference is a reclusive and adventurous honeymoon, then the American Southwest provides for both of these. The hospitality is unmatched, skiing opportunities are available, spa treatments are offered, and a vast array of art shops open. Good spots include Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico.

If the option you seek is one where there is less traffic as well as expense, then the southwest of Florida is the place to go. Cities like Fort Meyers, Sarasota, Tampa bay and St. Petersburg offer tranquil atmospheres with opportunities to go fishing, kayaking as well as to the casino if you please.

Switzerland also provides a good honeymoon spot. Although the stay is a bit pricey, a quaint and romantic city like Inter-lake provides the opportunity to honeymoon in private Swiss chalets, go for romantic walks on the mountains that hover over the city and fill up with fondue if you like.

Whatever your choice, your honeymoon should be a safe and unforgettable experience.
