The type of food that you serve the guests at a bridal shower will depend on the kind of celebration that you are planning to have. The time that you are going to have the bridal shower will also determine the kinds of foods that you will serve. The location that you select for the shower will play a big role because certain places will call for particular kinds of food. If your bridal shower is being held at a fancy restaurant, you will have to serve dinner to your guests and if it is just at home, then finger foods will do just fine.

In most bridal showers, the foods included are usually light but hot meals can also be served as well if you are in a restaurant for example. The most important thing to keep in mind when planning for the food is the amount of money that you are willing to spend. This is because the shower may include large meals. If your budget is limited, you can prepare the food yourself and ask your friends and family to help you out with this. There are some ideas that you can use to make things easier for you, including:

Barbecues

This is a great way to have a bridal shower that can also include the men. It is a relaxed and simple way considering that the foods you will have will mainly include burgers and hotdogs that are simple to prepare.

Guests bringing food

The guests can come to the shower with covered dishes and not only will this make it easy but it will also ensure you have a variety of foods without so much effort. It will also save you a lot of money as well.

Tea in the afternoon

The ladies will love this concept where you can sit in the living room or the garden and chat as you take tea and some sandwiches. You can also include a salad to give the shower a traditional feel.

Serving finger foods only

This is best if your baby shower is taking place between dinner and lunchtime. The foods do not have to be elegant and you can even make them yourself if you do not have the money to buy. Some of the foods you can have are drumsticks, meatballs, vegetables and dip, chips and cheese and crackers. There are more ideas that you can get from magazines and old cookbooks.

Serving dessert

Prepare some cakes and other pastries to go along with great coffee and cream to tantalize your guests. This idea is great if the shower is after dinner or in the afternoon.

Cheese and wine

Give the guests some fine wine and cheese to nibble on but do not forget to provide an alternative for those who do not take alcohol.

Buffet

The best time to serve buffet for a bridal shower is during lunch. Have a variety of sandwiches and make lots of salad. The key here is to make sure that the table looks good.

Even with all this ideas, you should make what suits your taste and budget since it is your day.
