India has been famous for its traditions and cultures, it is known as the land of colours, religions and languages. A place where people love each other in spite of their differences in cultures or languages, always ready to help the other person, following the principles of give and take, and respecting the sovereignty of the country and contributing their togetherness towards the integrity of the nation. Also, India is the only country, where people firmly believe in the ritual of marriage, and take it as a relation for seven lives.

The match making process for marriages in India is very different from that of the dating processes of other countries. The country from its early ages has been following the tradition of matching the qualities or kundali’s of their children before tying them with the spiritual knot of marriage. Matrimonies in India are said to be built in heaven, and these processes are just a source to convert the god’s wishes into practise. Such are the believes of people in India, due to which they match the kundali’s of their children, a part of which they match their qualities and work profile, cultures, rituals, languages and religion.

Most of the Indians prefer doing the marriage of their children in the same religion or caste, inter- caste marriages are generally not preferred in the country, unless there is an exception of love marriage. These days, many parents’ permits their children to perform marriages inter- caste as a result of their pre-marriage love bonding. Although some of the religions like Sikhs and Muslims do not practise the procedure of matching Kundali’s or Horoscopes for their children marriage, but mainly all Hindus prefer matching horoscopes of their children before marriage.

The compatibility factor of a couple is derived from the position of the moon in the 27 nakshatras. Following are the few points which are kept in mind while matching horoscopes in a Hindu wedding:
