Wedding is the life time opportunity of a person to get himself dressed like a prince, to be treated like the most important person of the lot and a golden chance to live the life his ways. It is the day, one has always dreamt of, the day to fulfil all his dreams. From the childhood itself, we start dreaming of our dream girl, the one who would fill our life with all happiness and smiles, who would enlighten our world with all the brightness and charm. This day is compared with the night, which has all the bright stars in the sky and is the most bright and beautiful night of the season.
Dressing like a prince, best arrangements, awesome venue, delicious menu are some of the basic ingredients of a popular and memorable wedding. In all these arrangements, we often forget the most important part of the wedding process, which is actually the beginning of the wedding procedures. Wedding card, which is the invitation for the marriage ceremony is the most important component of a beautiful wedding. Wedding card has to be very innovative and impressive as this forms the first impression, which goes to the guests or the invitees for the marriage.
Making, designing and printing of wedding cards is also a business, which is practiced at a large scale in the country. The creativity and the innovative skills used in the wedding cards is really impressive, and it actually takes most of the time for the person to choose his wedding card. Even if one goes to a wedding card dealer, he would also not allow you to take picture of the wedding cards being displayed in his shop, this is to maintain the uniqueness of his collection of cards. Also, one will find different variety of cards in every shop visited.
Both the sides of the bride and groom get separate wedding cards printed for the marriage, to be distributed in their social circle. The wedding card from both the parties, is first presented to the lord to seek his blessings, this is a ritual followed in almost all Indian weddings. Also, these days, both bride and groom prefer taking each others consent before choosing the card, this is to make them realise their importance in each other’s life. Wedding card is the invitation for the marriage, the formal announcement which goes to the family and relatives about the wedding alliance. Following are the points which should be kept in mind before choosing a wedding card:
The colour of the card should be bright as the colour is the most significant thing, and is denotation of many auspicious believes and customs, mainly red or maroon colour is preferred, to mark the occasion of happiness and prosperity.
The design of the card should be unusual, highlighting the tradition and customs of the family associated. This ways, it highlights the traditional values of the culture of the families.
The cloth or the material chosen for the wedding card should be different, there are many new materials been introduced in the market like velvet, handmade cards with mirror work, paper cards, etc. In many cases the couple name is also seen engraved on a metal plate outside the wedding card.
The colour chosen for writing the text should compliment the background colour of the wedding card. In most cases, the text colour is golden or silver keeping the auspiciousness of the occasion.
In many cultures, a sweet box or anything sweet is also given as a practise with the invitation.
Therefore, one can judge the wedding card is in a way the very first step towards the beginning of a successful and a happy marriage.
