Choosing the right wedding venue is probably one of the hardest decisions to make. There are several things that you have to consider when choosing the perfect venue for this big event. Here are easy tips to help you in choosing the right wedding venue.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception

Weddings are usually made up of two parts- the wedding ceremony and the reception. Church weddings are still a favorite among couples. If you have already agreed on a specific church for the ceremony, make sure you choose a reception venue close to the church location. It will be easier for you and your guests to transfer from the service to the reception when they are minutes apart from each other.

If on the other hand, you have decided on outdoor weddings (beach/garden weddings), you can have the ceremony and reception in just a certain venue. This is much more cost effective since you only have to decorate one venue for the entire day. It is also much more convenient for the guests since it omits the hassle of travelling from one location to another.

Wedding Venue Budget

It would be wise to keep your wedding dreams in line with your finances. If you live in the city, take advantage of the nice venues that your place has to offer. You really don’t have to seek castles and beaches if you’re on a tight budget. This will help spare you from a lot of arguments and debts after marriage.

Number of Guests

Your wedding would also depend on how big you want it to be. Planning all your wedding guest list can be an exciting and at the same time tiring task. Here are some factors that you need to consider:

  • • Venue capacity. Before you even start looking at possible venues, be sure to have a good estimate on the number of people on your guest list. This will probably include family, friends, workmates, entertainers, & etc.

  • • Standing or seated reception. Formal dining would obviously require more space compared to a stand up buffet. A venue with a seating capacity of 100 may accommodate 200 people for a canapé reception.

  • • Entertainment. Bands and other entertainment facilities (e.g. dance floor) may need a large amount of space. Decide on a spot where you want entertainment to take place and examine the available space in the venue as well.

The Mill Pond Country Club is an awesome Long Island banquet facility for your wedding day. This premiere Long Island wedding venue offers scenic view of lush greens and verdant hills. The place is indeed among New York’s top wedding reception venues.
