Perhaps you have learned about staying positive and prepared yourself mentally to move forward toward your goal of confidence building. You are working on getting your mind right and you have some ideas and understandings about where to go from here. You know that by taking things one step at a time and making consistent effort to accomplish small victories along the way, your confidence building goals will become realities. Don't be afraid to stumble or fail along the way. Each time you do, you will learn valuable lessons that will empower and strengthen you for consecutive attempts. So what now?

Arm Yourself with the Right Information.

I've said it before and I'll say it until I am old and gray. The motivation and desire to achieve is only half of the battle. Confidence building can be a challenging undertaking. You must first get informed. Capitalize on the efforts of the thousands of people who have come before you to understand and achieve high levels of self confidence.

Over the years, significant progress has been made to better understand this widespread problem. Masterful techniques have been developed and tested on many people and over many years. Confidence building is an age-old practice. Ignoring all of this work and trying to figure out what works on your own would be an arduous chore to say the least. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Learn from those who have already found whatever it is that you seek.

Reading and gathering helpful tidbits of information about confidence building, is quite helpful in the beginning and I certainly love the fact that you reading what I have to share. However, it would be foolish of me to assume that this advice alone would take everyone speeding along the path of confidence building success and ensure your unlimited and immediate triumph. Know that there are also many powerful and well developed courses out there that can give you a structured and well supported path to follow. I can recommend a couple good ones later. Moving forward...

Remember to keep it Simple.

In the beginning, examining the many processes of confidence building can seem overwhelming. One reason for this is that there is a lot of information out there to process and at times, it is difficult to distinguish fact from opinion. This is why you need to keep it simple. Refer to the information that you uncover often to help get it locked into your brain, but when it comes to action, don't try to remember everything you've seen and heard all at once.

Just remember that taking action to accomplish small successes whenever an opportunity arises will help you to continue making steady progress on your path of confidence building efforts.

Enjoy these small simple triumphs as they come and revel in their glory. They represent progress which is the most important thing in any worthwhile pursuit. Don't go out and try to conquer the world in your early days. Save giving speeches to an auditorium full of people for a little later in the game if you need to. You'll get there! There's no reason why you can't give the speech to your grandmother or your cat first! I've done this...

Examine Your Goals.

If you've looked into the confidence building process, you likely learned about preparation and staying positive. Perhaps you learned about setting small, specific, achievable goals. Each goal should be a small attempt to break you out of your comfort zone. For instance, approaching a stranger and striking up a conversation, would be a small but achievable goal that may help you expand your comfort zone. You should think of many small goals like this and many tougher ones as well. Once, you have a list of them put together, you are ready to take some action armed with nothing more than the lessons that you've learned so far in life and your own personal courage. Yes, you have courage. I don't want to hear it!

Take a look at your goals.

You should lay them out clearly and in order from easiest to most difficult. Once you've done that, look at the first goal on your list. This is soon going to be your first of many successes. Prepare yourself mentally by visualizing how you intend to approach this situation. Now write down an action version of goal number one. It should look like this: "I will accomplish (insert your goal) by the end of today," or something like that. Setting a deadline will help motivate you to resist procrastination. Now go and do it.

If you keep it simple and easy at first, you should have few problems. Once you have accomplished this first goal, record it and rejoice in your small victory. How did it feel to approach this situation? We're you nervous? If so, I believe that you should repeat it until you are completely comfortable with it. Then, simply move on to the next goal. You will likely find that your confidence has already improved. This game of confidence building is not as hard as you may have originally thought!

Keep Your Head in the Game.

When you were getting prepared, you probably learned about the importance of getting your mind right. You learned about eliminating negative thought and accepting the likelihood of your success. In between each of your victories, return to those concepts and reaffirm or establish them in your mind. After some practice, you will find that these concepts will stick with you permanently and begin to affect the way you think and view the world around you at all times.

It is likely, if you are really putting yourself out there, that you will eventually make some mistakes or experience some failures as well. This is not going to affect your progress because you already know that the confidence building path embraces the possibility of failure as an opportunity to grow and learn. You do not fear failure! Don't forget this because the first failure will feel like...well...failure. It won't feel nice but you will shake it off and move on.

This is a big lesson in itself. Once you truly master the concept of embracing failure, you will feel a huge weight lift as the bulk of your fears simply fade away. In most of us, fear of failure is one of the biggest causes of low self confidence.

This is a basic but helpful approach to help build up your confidence over time on your own. While there are certainly some more comprehensive, guided and structured programs available, this simple approach can be quite effective if you are disciplined enough to stick with it over time. The important thing is that you find something that works for you and give it everything you have...
