You can save your marriage alone. I know that sounds crazy, but it is absolutely true. Conventional wisdom dictates that both spouses must be involved in saving a marriage, but experts in the field have realized that the traditional perspective simply is not correct.
Dr. Lee Baucom, author of Save The Marriage, draws a potent analogy between marriages and those algebra problems we used to solve back in high school that explains why you can actually save your marriage alone.
A relationship, he maintains, is not unlike an equation. If you shift the value of one side of the equation, the other side will naturally respond with an appropriate change. You cannot increase or decrease one side without affecting the other.
Couples work the same way. If you make changes within the marriage, your spouse will inevitably make changes, as well. As you change the values in the equation that is your marriage, you can take it from the brink of divorce, restoring and improving it.
Some people listen to that explanation and still dismiss it. They have been told that they cannot save a marriage by themselves so many times that they simply cannot believe there is an alternative. If that describes you, please consider a few things.
First, you need to question the wisdom of relying on conventional wisdom. The prevailing attitude claims that couples need joint therapy when marriages are at risk. However, experts estimate that strategy only works for twenty percent of participants. Compare that to Dr. Baucom's approach, which has been successful for over ninety percent of his clients.
Second, remember that you have nothing to lose. If you want to save your relationship and your spouse is not ready to assist, your only alternative to acting alone is surrender. If you wanted to give up on your marriage, you certainly would not be reading this article. There is no downside to trying to save your marriage alone. The only risk to your happiness would be doing nothing at all.
You can save your marriage alone. Others have been through this process and have experienced tremendous success. You are not required to surrender your dreams and happiness. You deserve a strong, stable and happy marriage. Do what it takes to get it.
It is not too late to stop divorce.
Right now, find and use the proven way to save a marriage.
