Finding Ways to Get Her Back

There are times when a couple may break up and one or both individuals end up saying, "How do I get my ex back?" when they realize that they have just lost something precious to them. Even though the couple may no longer be officially dating, this does not mean that the relationship is lost for good. When a relationship is in trouble, especially if it is to the point that the couple has decided to split up, there are often still ways to help heal the relationship and bring the couple back together again. Although each relationship is different, there are things that each party in the relationship can generally do to help make the relationship healthier and to bring about healing of the issue. Couples that do break up and then wonder how to get their ex’s back usually need to take some definitive steps toward conflict resolution so that the couple can start off with a clean slate and a more solid foundation for their relationship than it was prior to the problem.

What a Man Can Do

If a man is determined to get the woman back into the relationship, there are certain things he can try in order to do so. One way to get her back is to first do some self examining to determine where he is at fault in the relationship which led to the breakup. Although there are always two sides to every issue, if the man is the one pursuing a broken relationship, he must take the first step to determine where he was wrong. He can start to make changes to himself so that the relationship will be healthier in the future. Once he has done this self examination, then he is ready to contact his ex to begin the process to get her back.

After he contacts her, he must be willing to be patient, as the process leading to the breakup probably did not occur overnight. Therefore, he cannot expect that she will instantly be ready to work on the relationship. If she does not take his phone calls, he can leave a message for her telling her what specifically he is sorry for in the relationship, ask her forgiveness and tell her what he plans to do to change. This will show her that he has done some serious thinking about his part of the problem which will usually soften her toward him so that she will be willing to at least talk about it. Another method would be to send her flowers with a card in which he explains much the same thing: what he is sorry for, ask her forgiveness, and explain what he is going to work on.

This is an important step in trying to get an ex back since it takes a certain amount of maturity and humility to own up to inappropriate behavior and ask someone else for forgiveness, knowing that they may or may not grant it. By doing so, however, shows strength of character and a willingness to change that is so vital to the long-term health of any relationship. Couples that are mutually willing to move through this stage of conflict resolution are well on their way to getting their ex back.

There may be times when the lady is not willing to speak to him, and he must be willing to let her go if his attempts to contact her to get her back fail. This is part of his maturing process, and if he really cares about her well being, then he will also be willing to let her go if all attempts fail rather than obsessing over her and scaring her with multiple phone calls or driving by her house. Patience is a virtue and giving the woman time to think about the apology and attempt at reconciliation will usually pay off, leading to a renewed chance at relationship rescue.
