Not everybody learns ASL in order to get a job or earn good money while there are people who have to learn ASL because it is very necessary for them to learn as they have relatives in or a family member or a loved one who is deaf and you then need to communicate with them in ASL.

Even people who become deaf due to some accidents have to learn ASL as they then have no other means to communicate with others other than in sign language. Some people become deaf due to accidents and some are born deaf so learning ASL is beneficial for anyone who wants to learn this language.
