If you are a rapidly expanding company then you may find that you often need new office furniture. You may be trying to cram too many desks or workstations into too small a space, or by not considering different room layouts, you may not be making the most of the space you have. Alternatively, you may not be expanding, but don't think you're making the best of the space you have.
-
If there’s not enough space for the number of desks you need, you may need to consider different office furniture that will make better use of the space you have. If that doesn’t provide you with enough room, you may need to consider moving premises.
-
If there’s not enough storage space in the office, then files, paperwork, directories, stationery, and other sundries that could be tidied away will be on display and can be misplaced. Having adequate storage will ensure that all staff know where everything is at all times.
-
As departments and companies grow, or priorities change, the room might not be laid out to make the most of the space, the facilities or other features of the room. Perhaps your staff need natural light, but are away from the window. Ensuring that the room is laid out well and that staff have all the facilities they need, will ensure that staff can work more productively.
-
Perhaps your office furniture is not suitable for the job in hand. You may have inherited the furniture, or added to it as the company has grown. Maybe now you realise that your current desks and chairs could be more ergonomic and comfortable.
-
It may be that there is not enough space for all the paperwork, manuals, directories, and other items that workers need on their desks. The desks may not have been designed for computers, and other modern technology, and so might not be really appropriate in the modern office.
-
You office chairs may be inappropriate. If you run a call centre, then you will want operator chairs that are comfortable and easy to manoeuvre. Boardroom chairs are usually not suitable for general office use, and operator chairs would be unsuitable for a boardroom
-
You may be considering new office furniture as yours is old and tatty. Perhaps your office furniture is used all day everyday, such as in a call centre or sales environment. Depending on the quality and the setting, your chairs and desks maybe beginning to show signs of wear and tear.
-
The wrong type of furniture gives the wrong impression. Bright and colourful cutting edge designer style furniture might look good in a creative environment, but is unlikely to be suitable for a firm of solicitors.
-
A corporate rebrand, or a change in focus can mean that the brand colour scheme has changed, which may mean that the office furniture will need to be changed. Also, bear in mind the effects that different colours have. Whilst a bright stripy chair might look like a good idea in a catalogue, will a whole office full of bright stripy chairs still seem like a good idea? What will black desks say to your staff?
-
Perhaps you are moving premises and want a clean start, so that everything is new, and creates the right image.
Whether you need boardroom furniture or office seating there is plenty to choose from. Why not treat your staff to new office furniture and see if productivity improves?
