Not so long ago, business presentations and paperwork had to be delivered in standard sized, standard looking presentation folders. In any office you went into, you could see such folders by the dozens or, in some cases, hundreds. Why is that? Well, it's simple. Companies bought in bulk.

You see, the old method of printing was far too expensive for a printer to be bothered printing one or two folders at a time. That is, of course, unless business owners were willing to pay huge amounts of money to cover printing costs. So, people were forced to buy their folders in bulk.

These days, though, digital printing has changed all that. There are still large initial printing expenses because of the costs of creating the original prints. However, now copies can be made quite easily. That means that companies no longer have to buy dozens or hundreds of folders.

In fact, if you're planning to order folders for your company, with most printing companies, you can even order single folders at a time. That means less environmental waste. It also means less money wasted.

Of course, customizing the number of folders you print isn't the only important thing, though. You should also think about different ways to customize the appearance of your folders. After all, you want your potential clients and associates to remember your presentation above all others.

One way to customize your folder is by getting a non-standard size or shape. Standard A4 folders are great for some things. However, if you have over sized documents or under sized items, such as CD's, they may not be appropriate. Besides that, an unusual folder size will make people remember your folder and your company longer.

Another folder customization involves putting different gussets and pockets in your folders. Gussetts are great if you plan to present several papers at once. Special pockets are wonderful for holding items like CD's and company business cards or brochures.

It's also important, of course, to customize the design, color and content of your folders. Just because you need to include certain things, such as your contact number and company logo, does not mean that your folder has to look like all the others out there. It's amazing what adding a simple design or a splash of color can do to accentuate your folder and, by extension, your company.

So, before you just decide to have your print company print standard presentation folders stop and think. What can your folder do for your company? Keep in mind the message you want to send and remember that that message will still be received by people long after you leave. With any luck, your customized folders will really improve your business.
