With gas prices reaching the sky day by day, motorized scooter has become a popular choice. These scooters, which are powered by charged batteries, are extremely simple to use and very cost effective. Since there is no gas powered motor, there will be considerably lesser chances of repairs and so the maintenance costs will be low. All it costs is the price of the electricity that is needed to recharge the battery.
There are various types of motorized scooters, the most famous one being the three-wheeled scooter. Apart from that, scooters with two wheels or four wheels are available. All these scooters are generally famous among the old aged or the disabled people who cannot walk easily. That is the reason why they are often referred to as mobility scooters. These motorized vehicles give them the ability to be independent and be mobile once again.
Motorized vehicles have many other uses apart from helping the elderly. Malls, train stations, airports, etc. all these places use many kinds of these scooters that are specially designed according to the need in that place. It can be used to transport people to short distances, carry around cargo and luggage or even stay guard by using these for patrol etc. These vehicles are literally noiseless and hence will be very advantageous in places where there is not much of a noise. The usage of regular gas powered vehicles can cause noise pollution, air pollution and is not eco friendly at all.
Motorized vehicles surely are clean powered vehicles but they sure do have their drawbacks. The most important one is speed. These vehicles are meant for slow speeds and hence they cannot replace vehicles where speed is very important. The range of mobility is very small for motorized scooters, as the battery will not last for more than 20-30miles. Therefore, you cannot use these for long distances. Nevertheless, you can always add in some extra battery and move a little longer or you can alternatively stop by and get a recharge. These scooters are ideal for grandparents, who previously needed someone to hold them and take them around.
With price being so low and such ease of use, having a motorized scooter has surely become a boon to the elderly.
