If your loved one needs assistance with daily activities, it may be an option for you, especially if you are considering non-medical senior at home. Assisted Living Care provides long-term care for older people who do not require senior medical services provided in the hospital. Assisted living facilities provide meals, structured activity, living space, communications, personal care, medication reminders and assistance, which is linked to everyday life. Assisted Living services are designed to give seniors a safe and secure environment, allowing them to maintain the maximum level of independence.
Costs associated with living facilities are usually covered by long-term care health insurance plans and Medicaid. It does not cover Medicare and most health insurance plans.
Nursing home and skilled medical care
If you need skilled nursing services around the clock, it might be a good alternative for home care and health in older home care services at home. Nursing home or skilled care facility, a place where someone with illness, injury, disease or condition can go for care. Skilled care facility, usually the last choice for long-term senior services, but they are cheaper than hospitals. Services provided in a nursing home include: physical and speech therapy, skilled care and assistance in daily life. This is usually covered by Medicare for the first 100 days, if a person comes from a hospital. Medicaid coverage will depend on the state and the long-term insurance policies are likely to cover some of its parts.
