The main causes of panic disorder are lifestyle and eating habits, so a change in them can actually go a long way in stopping these anxiety attacks. Whenever there is a panic disorder, the person feels worried and scared and this negative feeling often ends up in contributing to the misery or aggravating the problem. Make the person aware of the methods or treatments that can help him or her is the first step through a gradual improvement to a better health condition.

  • Practice relaxation techniques - Can be any technique, like yoga, meditation, tai chi, and others, that efficiently help in calming the person under stress and feel relieved. But do not forget, even though this technique gives instant relief in the beginning, only continuous and religious practice will give the person long and everlasting benefits, at least for five days in a week and must be done for twenty minutes each time. These relaxation exercises can be either taken at relaxation classes or can be taken at home in privacy, but only when the person knows how the right way for doing them.

  • Stop usage of stimulants or any other kind of energizing drugs. These stimulants make the person very active and energetic which becomes a problem when the person is attacked by anxiety attacks. People who do not take these stimulants are less likely to get these panic disorders when compared to the people who take these stimulants.

  • Stop usages of caffeine and alcohol - These beverages have the same effect of the stimulants describe above, and should be avoided. But the withdrawals of them should not be done abruptly or very quickly as that would cause other problems because the body might have got used to these things and sudden withdrawals can cause some side effects. The withdrawal should be slow and must be done over a period of time.

  • Quit smoking - The habit of smoking can make more difficult, for the people who are struggling to stop the anxiety attacks, to improve their health condition, and perhaps aggravate the situation, because the wish of smoking make people more anxious, which can be a beginning of a situation of panic attack. And as said above, the process of quitting should be made slowly and consistently to be effective.

  • Do exercise - Any activity helps enormously in tackling with these panic disorders. Exercising does not necessarily mean that you have to buy expensive gym equipments or get yourself a membership in the nearby gym. You are not supposed or expected to get physically toned or build up muscles. Exercising in this context just means taking brisk walks or taking a jog on the pavement, what will help a great deal in stopping the arrival of anxiety attacks in the future.
