"So why do people procrastinate?"

When we procrastinate we are letting our subconscious tell us that there's something wrong with what we're doing. This 'Procrastination' test will help tell you what might be causing you to procrastinate when it comes to your job, relationships, personal development, or something else!

Why do people procrastinate? They lack the desire!

1/ Do you enjoy what you're doing?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

If you couldn't care less about what you're doing then no wonder you procrastinate! The most surefire to get things done is to either enjoy or change what you're doing.

2/ Is what you want and what you're doing congruent?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

If you don't feel like what you're doing will get you where you want to go, then you will procrastinate.

3/ Do you have problems getting out of bed?

Yes! (0 points) No! (3 points) Sometimes (2 points)

You might not have noticed that you don't enjoy what you're doing. If you're constantly hitting that snooze button then you might want to take another look at what you're doing with your life.

Why do people procrastinate? Their values clash!

1/ Do you feel like what you're doing is the right thing for you?

Yes (3 points) No!(0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

Even if you love what you're doing, if you're feeling horrible then that might be why you're procrastinating.

2/ Is what you're doing clashing with your values?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

Again, if you're feeling bad about what you're doing then you're going to procrastinate. Even if you don't feel bad, if what you're doing is clashing with your values then you will procrastinate.

3/ Do you walk around feeling bad about yourself lately?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

Sometimes we are hard on ourselves needlessly. If we're like that everyday for a certain amount of time, then maybe it's time to take a look at what we're doing and ask ourselves if it's right for us.

Why do people procrastinate? They don't believe they can succeed!

1/ Do you believe you can succeed?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

If you don't believe that you will succeed then your subconscious will sabotage you efforts. Look at your history and think about what do you think prevented you from succeeding in the past?

I know that for me when I was younger and had a final exam, I would goof off and not want to study one week before it even though I put in a lot of work! How about you? What's holding you back?

2/ Do you believe what you're doing can work?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

If you're doing something that you don't think will work, then it won't. Simply put, if you don't believe that what you're doing will get you the results you want, the first obstacle will knock you off your path.

3/ Do you do things half-heartedly?

Yes! (3 points) No! (0 points) Sometimes (1 point)

Look at how you're doing things. If you look at what you're doing and feel like you're not putting genuine effort then it might be because you don't believe it will work (among other reasons.)
