Free inspirational quotes can come across as helpful but unless you're aware of how they can harm you, they're just going to steal your time and get you hooked! These quotes alone are like drugs. They only make you 'feel good'! So when you're starting to get frustrated again, you can't help yourself and just go back to that web page and read some more...and get yourself another dose.

These quotes are:

  • addicting

  • in excess

  • obsolete

Let me explain -

Quotes are addicting!

They are like cocaine (not that I've done cocaine of course ;-) ) in the sense that they make you feel good when you need it. Now in certain times in your life, that's all good but the issue is when you become dependent on them! You start needing them, reading a few more and waiting for them to give you that feel-good rush again!

Not only that but if you're like the old me and are into free inspirational quotes, you're going to have to read more so that you can find more intriguing and complex ones just to get that same fix!

There are...too many of them!

Heaven forbid you should try to read all the free inspirational quotes you find! There are just too many! Not only that, but most of them come from unconfirmed sources or from sources that really don't have much credibility (especially those 'unknown' quotes). How do you really know that they're helpful? All you know is that they make you 'feel good' and that there millions of them out there!

They lack substance!

Most of these quotes come from the 20th century or before. If old technology in the form of cars, business methods, or learning techniques can become obsolete, then what about free inspirational quotes? Aren't a few if not most of them made for a time that is long gone?

And then, how can you tell the difference between those should have been discarded long ago and those that are valuable? Is there a difference?

Don't get me wrong - I believe that these quotes are helpful and practical. What I'm concerned with is when all I do is read them and get addicted to having them on my screen. Remember, what's important is getting the results you want. If you're aware of the dangers of quotes and can hold yourself back from reading them all the time, then you're okay. If not, then stay away completely for at least 30 to 90 days! Use the ones you already know and leverage them so that they fuel you as you begin to take action!
