Four Qualities of Good Leadership

Leaders are not all the same. They are not the same in who they are or in how they lead. There are qualities that good leaders share. Here we will discuss four of these qualities that good leaders share. More than just listing them we will cover what they are what is good about them and how we can get better in each of these qualities.

Integrity- Is about being consistent in doing the right thing, and being consistent in who you are. Consistent people are easy to work with; you know what response you are going to get, you know what work results you will get, because of this people like working with people of integrity. This consistence goes work life, personal, and the internet some people will become totally different people on the internet. That is a big mistake, the internet is powerful, and very public, make sure everything you put on social site is written in a way that there is no one that you would not want to read it.

If you do not have integrity people hesitate when working with you they don’t ever know for sure what results you will give, or if you are being truthful.

Action steps:

As you read above it is about being consistent. Figure out who you are, what do want people to think when they think of you? Make you actions consistent, with who you want to be, in person, on the phone, on the internet, everywhere.

Charisma- is energy with the delivery. Even if you have the best information out there, if you can’t deliver it with charisma, then no one is listening. Leaders with charisma have found their passion, and deliver it with energy.

Action steps:

Be in your passion, if you don’t leaf that you are in something that matters, find out what you like and care about that is your passion. Find a way to work in your passion.

Work on self confidence. Tips to improve confidence:

  • be informed in the area you want to be confident.

  • practice public speaking and leadership outside of you regular leadership Toastmasters working on this outside of your regular spot will speed up your growth

  • be confident you know what you are talking about (because you should know about it step 1)

  • repeat continually, never stop trying to grow

Forward thinking- you cannot lead without knowing where you want to go. A leader must look at where they have been where they are and use that information to help create a growth plan of where they want to be. The where you have been will help you know what is possible. It will also let you know what works and what does not.

Action steps:

Take some time and write down what you have done, go back as far as you want. Make note of what has been good and bad. This can be done for work and personal.

Think off thing you want. Use the information you have to make a plan of how. Be willing to seek new knowledge to help you achieve these goals.

Exemplary- this can tie to some of the above, lead by example. If you are a leader, and you want your team to work hard and fast, you should be doing so and more. Followers will follow at level lower than the leader. People learn by what they see, you will get the best results from your followers by showing.

Action steps:

Look at what you are doing is it the example you want to set, if not change. When you want to teach something find a way to show, what you want to teach and it can increase the learning speed.
