This is no be all end all way to lead. The world has many exceptional leaders, and within those many different ways of leading. One thing that stays consistent within exceptional leadership it is always centered on people. These leaders know the importance of people in being a good leader. Here talk about knowing who you are leading.
Know their talents- Know the people you are leading, know what they are exceptional at getting doing and getting done.
Know about them- take time to learn more about them then work (if it is work where you are leading them). Learn about what they like, things they ambitions they have. Learn about their families. Build a deader relationship and you will be able to connect deeper with them.
Help them grow- promote them to grow in their abilities. Also try and find many ways to provide opportunities that will help them grow.
Encourage open thinking- If it is a job make sure they know what has to get done, but encourage them to think up way to do it better. If they work with customer, encourage them to think of way for the customers to leave happier and come back more. Give them opportunities to participate in some decision/brainstorming of new ideas. When they give an idea make sure they know you are grateful for their ideas.
"All leadership is influence."- John C. Maxwell
Leaders should be people focused. Know the members of your team/followers, know their talents, and know who they are. Help them use their knowledge, help them do more than they thought they could. This what a good leader does, they help those that look up to them become more then they thought they ever could.
Be a true leader, and find ways to help other become more. Leaders do not lead businesses they lead people know this and do it well, people will want to follow you when they feel you care. They will stick with you when they feel you help them to be more than they thought they could be.
