Every now and then, someone special comes along. Marc Dwyer was born on March 17, 1968 at the Long Island University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He was the last of three children born to parents Gladstone & Evelyn Dwyer, who emigrated here from the West Indies.
He grew up in a rough part of Brooklyn, but never allowed that to be a part of his influence. The toughness that stuck with him had to do with principle. He later said, "I hope to take my experience from such varied points of society, and apply the understanding that such experience provides to the administration of justice.
Marc later married his soul-mate, Rose Bardouille, and at this time in their seventeen year marriage, they are the parents of three children, Jasmine, 15; Jayson, 10 (on March 17th) Brea, 8 (on March 12th). With full time employment responsibilities, he pursued and received his J.D. (Juris Doctorate) from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2002, and soon thereafter joined the law firm of Stephen R.A. Knight & Associates. He passed the Bar on his first try in 2003. Later that year Knight& Dwyer, LLC was organized, and opened their first Palm Coast office in 2004.
Marc has recently announced his candidacy for Circuit Judge, 7th Judicial Circuit, Group 5 in the state of florida. In a recent interview he stated, Since I have been both employee, and employer, I have an understanding of business relationships that can add balanced perspective.""As a veteran married man of 17 years, with children, I understand the issues concerning families, and have a vested interest in keeping our streets safe. As a committed Christian, I can discern and appreciate the concepts of both Justice, and Mercy. As an entrepreneur, I have felt the pains of being both a creditor and debtor. Having drafted wills and shepherded cases through probate, I empathize with end of life issues. As a Teen Court Judge, I am familiar with many of the problems facing our youth and the ever-changing dynamic of our County.
"My goal is to make my community a better and safe place for my children and my family. While it has been a privilege helping people by advocating on their behalf, I am looking forward to helping the community by providing fair and balanced administration of justice, and making sure the public gets what it is paying for in our Court system."
