Allah is the greatest manager and He is managing all the things. He is ordering and directing everything.
He directs the whole affair.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Ra’d 13: Ayah 2)
A Mu’min (True Muslim) is also a good leader and holds all the qualities necessary for the good management.
Management and planning is the key factor which helps a leader to lead his business to success. It determines whether a leader is capable of leading a particular business and work or not. World’s greatest leaders (either in business or somewhere else) have the habit of sharing their affairs with their closest ones. And biggest of all is that they help others from their money. They are not greedy that they want to place whole of the money for themselves.
(Believers are) those who respond to their Lord and perform prayer, and manage their affairs by mutual consultation and give of what We have provided for them.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Shura 42: Ayah 38)
Don’t show bad behaviour:
Holy Qur’an also advice us to keep us away from bad behavior. In fact one of the biggest mistakes is to conduct others badly.
And do not find fault with one another or insult each other with derogatory nicknames. How evil it is to have a name for evil conduct after coming to faith! Those people who do not turn from it are wrongdoers.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Hujurat 49: Ayah 11)
Good leader have to work straight forward and therefore must show straight path:
Management is achieved by following a straight path. A good leader must follow the rules as mentioned by The Greatest Leader; ALLAH. A good leader may have it revealed in some part of his life that he has the abilities to lead and guide other peoples through a particular situation.
We made them leaders, guiding by Our command, and revealed to them how to do good actions and perform prayer and give the alms, and they worshipped Us.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Anbiya’ 21: Ayah 73)
A good leader may find guidance from someone having more knowledge:
A good leader is not only a good teacher but also find some source to be guided by, he may find somebody to teach and guide him through different paths. As mentioned in Holy Qur’an about Hadrat Musa (AS).Although he was a prophet but found someone greater in knowledge, so said to him as:
‘May I follow you on condition that you teach me some of the right guidance you have been taught?’
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Kahf 18: Ayah 66)
A good leader must check the life of other successful peoples:
A good management needs the, time by time, assistance of some peoples who have already faced the similar situations. And he must pray to ALLAH for good and straight path which must lead him to success as mentioned in Holy Qur’an:
Show us the straight way, The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Fatihah 1: Ayah 6-7)
Justifiable and have strong faith:
Holy Qur’an also tells about the leader as a righteous person and have a strong faith. He after showing these characteristics will find success.
But those who have faith and work righteousness. They are companions of the Garden: therein shall they abide (forever).
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Baqarah 2: Ayah 82)
Judgment and knowledge:
A good leader has good judgment and sound knowledge base for that particular work, he is doing. He can ruin his leadership properties without good judgment. If he knows nothing how can he manages all the people for a specific task. So, Allah has mentioned in the Holy Qur’an:
We gave him judgement and knowledge. That is how We recompense good-doers.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Qasas 28: Ayah 14)
All in all good leaders must have the following properties:
Good leaders:
-
Showing respect and deference toward other people,
-
They have fear of ALLAH,
-
They are steadfast and show patience through thick and thin,
-
Perform their prayers regularly,
-
And give of what ALLAH has provided them, as mentioned in the Qur’an:
... Give good news to the humble-hearted, whose hearts quake at the mention of Allah, and who are steadfast in the face of all that happens to them, those who perform prayer and give of what We have provided for them.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Hajj 22: Ayah 34-35)
Allah is with the steadfast.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Baqarah 2: Ayah 153)
Stories from the Holy Qur’an may help us to get more knowledge because:
We (ALLAH) have put forth for men, in this Qur’an every kind of Parable, in order that they may receive admonition.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Zumar 39 :Ayah 27)
May Allah help us to get more from Holy Qur’an.
(Ameen)
ALLAH has told us that the peoples, who have a strong belief that ALLAH is One, there is no god except ALLAH, and strictly obey the orders of ALLAH, will certainly get success. Provided that the person have a strong habit of doing what ALLAH has said.
It is the believers who are successful.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Mu’minun (The Believers) 23: Ayah 1)
The reply of the believers when they are summoned to Allah and His Messenger so that he can judge between them, is to say, ‘We hear and we obey.’ They are ones who are successful.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al-Nur (The Light) 24: Ayah 51)
Believing in One ALLAH and doing right actions:
A Mu’min is one who not only believe in One ALLAH but also believe that good deeds have their own rewards. In fact if some one wants to find the things which are necessary for good leadership and good management then he can study the lifestyle of Mu’min (a true Muslim). There are many Muslims in the history whose lives are worth reading.
ALLAH has some promise for such peoples:
Allah has promised those of you who believe and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their religion with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. ‘They worship Me, not associating anything with Me. ‘Any who disbelieve after that, such people are deviators.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al-Nur (The Light) 24: Ayah 55)
Steadfastness and Fear of ALLAH:
People who have the strong abilities to lead others are steadfast and are firm in their actions. They have fear of ALLAH; Most Gracious, Most Merciful. The peoples, who are good managers, have the strong ability to achieve success in every field of life.
ALLAH has mentioned in the Holy Qur’an for believers:
"You who believe, be steadfast; be supreme in steadfastness; be firm on the battlefield; and have fear of Allah; so that hopefully you will be successful."
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al ‘Imran (The Family of ‘Imran) 3: Ayah 200)
Have a clear vision of good and bad things:
The people have the ability to differentiate between the good and bad things. They must think that in appearance the bad thing may appear good if it is in large quantity but the good managers have a commendable quality of making good choice.
ALLAH has told us in the Holy Qur’an:
Say: ‘Bad things and good things are not the same, even though the abundance of the bad things may seem attractive to you.’ Have fear of Allah, people of intelligence, so that hopefully you will be successful.
(Holy Qur’an: Surah Al Ma’idah (The Repast) 5: Ayah 100)
